Our objective is to support our clients in order to help
them reach their goals and achieve the intended results.
Here are some examples...
- Raising public and government awareness on procurement
accountability (2007 - ongoing)
Flagship Solutions was retained by a company that wanted
to challenge a government procurement process. The intent
was to publicly raise concerns about the award of a $400
million contract and start procedures to review the procurement
process that was used. A public relations strategy was developed,
which led to the issue being covered in over 70 media publications,
including on the front page of the Ottawa Citizen and the
National Post. This issue was reported in the media every
day for over two weeks and was raised several times during
Question Period in the House of Commons, the Senate and
in a parliamentary committee.
To raise public awareness, we prepared a plan, identified
the stakeholders, developed the messages and started the
implementation of a public relations campaign. This included
the organization of a press conference, the preparation
of press releases, media backgrounders and other related
documents, as well as relationship building with some of
the journalists.
We also worked with Members of Parliament who were interested
in the issue, to provide them with the information they
required in order to ask questions of the government.
This communications initiative was successful in bringing
the procurement process to the attention of the public,
Members of Parliament, and senior government officials.
- Long-term communications (2004 – present)
Working with a federal government union, we prepared a long-term
strategic plan for their public relations efforts. We worked
on members’ relations, media communications and coordinated
the media campaign surrounding a demonstration, launch of
policy reports and other initiatives.
This project is ongoing, with the intent to raise the profile
of the union and thereby involve the union in policy development
at the federal government level.
- Crisis communications (2000 – 2004)
Flagship Solutions' partners were involved in a public relations
initiative designed to respond to public concerns about
animal health issues, after several cases of a disease were
made public by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
From the preparation of press releases to the direct response
to media inquiries (including newspaper and television interviews),
we were able to respond to public concerns and minimize
the impact to domestic consumption, on behalf of our client.
Following the public relations campaign, we were also involved
in a negotiation process with other countries, leading and/or
accompanying Canadian delegations in China, Korea, Hong
Kong, Thailand and New Zealand.
- Other initiatives
Flagship Solutions has been involved in a variety of communications
initiatives, from developing a communications plan on behalf
of an Ottawa-based community college to preparing the media
relations surrounding a national sporting event.
